Following the success of the AISF 2010 fund raising event, the Atlanta Committee for SOS Children’s Villages/USA is once again taking the lead in organizing the AISF 2012. We will work with business, cultural, and sports organizations to support SOS Children’s Villages.

Atlanta International Soccer FestAn international committee consisting of members of the Atlanta business, cultural, and sports community is organizing the AISF 2012, to be held over the 2012 Labor Day weekend. Soccer teams nominated by the Atlanta business and sports community, bi­lateral Chambers of Commerce and International Consulates will play against each other for a bit of friendly competition. This international celebration of soccer and culture is designed to raise funds and awareness for SOS Children’s Villages. Detailed information regarding the event location, game schedules, entry fees, and other pertinent information will be available on the Publix Atlanta Cup tournament website.

Registration

Register now by visiting the Publix Atlanta Cup team registration form and selecting the AISF International 7v7 option! All applications are processed on-line and may be paid by check or credit card. Applications must be submitted by July 9, 2012 to ensure your team’s acceptance.

Tournament Information

AISF 2012 International Division

Teams will be grouped according to competitive or recreational skill levels to make the most competitive brackets possible, although we depend on your team to self-assess your skill level. The Publix Atlanta Cup Committee determines final placement. The Committee uses many factors when ranking teams including team self-assessment and/or league playing division and records, etc. Please see www.atlantacup.com for more information.

Tournament Eligibility

The AISF 2012 International Division of the Publix Atlanta Cup is open to the entire Atlanta international community, including bi-lateral chambers of commerce, consulates, cultural organizations and clubs, sports teams that wish to represent a country, region, or ethnic group, etc. However, all teams who wish to register must meet the sign up deadline, July 9, 2012. All teams must also adhere to all tournament rules (see www.atlantacup.com for more information). Co-ed teams are welcome to register, and the division will play in a 7v7 format.

Games

All teams will play three round-robin games – two on Saturday and one on Sunday Morning. Semi-finals are played on Sunday afternoon and Finals are played on Championship Monday. The latest finals will begin at 2:00pm on Monday.

Players and Guests

All players must be properly registered via the Publix Atlanta Cup registration page. A player may play for only one team during the tournament. A maximum of three guest players per team. Guest players must also be registered via www.atlantacup.com.

Schedule

A representative must check the team in on Friday evening, August 31st, 2012, unless an online check-in has been completed. AISF teams will play three round-robin games, two on Saturday, September 1st and one on Sunday, September 2nd. Semi-finals are also played on Sunday, September 2nd. The final championship game will take place on Monday, September 3rd.

Format

The entire AISF 2012 division will play 7v7. Maximum roster size is 12 players.

Awards

Individual awards are given for 1st and 2nd place teams in each division.

Hotels

Teams that require lodging are required to stay in Publix Atlanta Cup approved hotels. Reservations will be handled by Connections, our tournament housing company. Hotels, descriptions, and rates will be posted on the tournament website. Teams may book rooms after divisions are announced. If there is a hotel where your team would like to stay and you do not see the hotel on our approved list just drop Connections a note and they will be happy to work with you. All hotel information will be available on our website or you can call Connections at 404-842-0000 or 800-262-9974.

Refunds

Refunds will be made in their entirety to all teams not accepted. Once entries close, the entry fee is non-refundable. If your team withdraws prior to the entry close date, your entry fee will be refunded, minus a $50.00 administrative fee.
Refunds will only be made if the tournament is can- celed due to weather or Acts of God, approximately one-half of the entry fee will be retained.
